Ensure unlimited access to fresh, cool water both indoors and outdoors. Bring water on walks.
Hydrate
Ensure your pup has constant access to shady spots both at home and when out and about.
Shade
Never leave your dog alone in a hot car as temperatures can quickly reach dangerous levels.
No Heat
Avoid walking dogs on hot pavement which can burn paws. Do walks in early morning or evening when it’s cooler.
Walk Carefully
Introduce dogs slowly to water to avoid shocking or scaring them. Always supervise pool time.
Pool First
Help overheated pups cool off by providing a kiddie pool with cool (not cold) water to lay in.
Cool Down
Brush dogs regularly to remove excess fur and prevent matting which causes skin irritation in heat.
